Linda J. Sloan, M.D.

Dr. Linda Sloan is a lifelong Alaskan who grew up in Unalakleet and has lived in Palmer since 1983. She is a graduate of the University of Minnesota Medical School (1974) and of the Family Practice Residency of Duluth (1977). From there she returned to her birthplace, Nome, Alaska, where she was employed by the Norton Sound Health Corporation for 5 years before moving to Palmer. She, with Dr. Moser, started The Family Health Center in 1985 and has felt privileged to provide medical care for patients for our clinic for 25 years. When not working, she is commonly seen running, skiing, hiking, kayaking and pursuing other outdoor interests. She has also enjoyed playing violin with the Matanuska Susitna Orchestra for several years.

Michael R. Moser, M.D.

 

 

Dr. Michael Moser attended medical school and earned a concurrent Master's Degree in Public Health and Tropical Medicine at Tulane University in New Orleans. He completed his post graduate training at Emory University in Atlanta and worked in Alaska as a medical epidemiologist with Center for Disease Control until 1977. He practiced 5 years with the US Public Health Service in Nome, and along with Dr. Sloan and two other physicians, provided all primary care medical services to the 14 villages of the Seward Peninsula, Norton Sound, St. Lawrence and Diomede Islands. He has been practicing Family Medicine in Palmer since 1982. Dr. Moser and his wife Tammy have raised three daughters in the Valley and enjoy gardening, travel and historic home renovation.

 

 

 

Debra Bushnell, ANP

Debra obtained her Diploma in nursing degree from St Luke's College of Nursing in 1983 and received her Bachelor of Science in nursing degree from Webster University Kansas City in 1989. She holds a national board certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. As a nurse she worked in a variety of settings including case management, rheumatology, coronary, and intensive care.

In 2003, she completed the Family Nurse Practitioner program earning a Master's of Science degree from the University of Alaska, Anchorage. Since graduating Debra has worked in primary and urgent care. Her focus is on treating patients with chronic and acute health care needs across their lifespan, using a holistic approach with special emphasis on overall health. Debra joined The Family Health Center as a full time nurse practitioner and has had the opportunity to be a part of the oldest Family Practice group in the Matanuska Susitna Valley since 2006. She enjoys spending time with her husband Eric Bushnell, a local real estate agent for Prudential Jack White Real Estate, and her two children. Eric loves helping families find their dream homes while Deb helps them stay healthy and active in this amazing state of Alaska they both call home.

Margaret Fitzgerald, ANP

 

 

Margaret obtained her Bachelor of Science in nursing degree from The University of Main in June 1978. As a dedicated provider of care, she served in the United States Air Force Nurse Corps from 1978-1988.

Margaret earned her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Austin in December 1992. She completed her Family Nurse Practitioner program, earning a Master's of Science degree from the University of Alaska Anchorage May 2007. Margaret came to work with The Family Health Center in May 2007. In her spare time, she enjoys biking, hiking and spending time with her two wonderful daughters.
